Timber Options
Alti not only boasts the most comprehensive range of window and door styles in the market, it also offers a wide range of timbers. With our many
years of experience in composite and timber joinery we recommend the use of tried and tested timbers only.
The most popular timbers are a combination of Rimu and Cedar, which is traditionally used in high quality timber joinery.
There are two applications for the timber in Alti composite joinery. Firstly, the timber cladding on doors, sashes and mullions, where we only offer the
best performing timbers which have very low shrinkage and high stability characteristics. It is also reassuring to note that the method of fixing the timber to the aluminium is a proven Alti system that has been
used for more than 10 years.
Secondly, a larger range of options are available for the frame or jamb timbers. Pacific Hardwood has the added benefit of being able to be used as the
internal cladding timber which helps to ensure a consistent appearance. The pacific Hardwood range has been developed in New Zealand by leading timber researchers as an alternative to non-sustainable timber hardwood
products.
Rigourously tested for performance and properties, Pacific Hardwood provides you with the luxury of exotic timbers, without the expense. Remember too,
that the Pacific Hardwood range of timber is exclusive to Alti Windows and Doors.
All timber components are treated at the time of manufacture with a water-repellent product. A finish then has to be applied to the timber. Your Alti
Specialist can suggest finishing oil to further enhance the beauty and warmth of natural wood.
